No. You book your installation with a 50% deposit, paid securely via Stripe. The remaining 50% is charged once your alarms are installed and compliant, and your compliance certificate is issued on payment. There's no interest and no extra fees for splitting your payment.

If our technician identifies that more (or fewer) alarms are needed to meet compliance requirements, the difference is reflected in your final balance. Your updated invoice is emailed to you after installation, with the balance due.

The number of interconnected smoke alarms required varies based on the layout of the home. The following provides the minimum number of alarms required based on the number of bedrooms and/or storeys at a property. It is provided as a guide only.

In most cases, an office or study will require a smoke alarm unless there is a reason why the space could not also be used as a bedroom.

Please note that studio apartments typically require one alarm.

Please note that for accelerated installation, each interconnected alarm is $129 (incl. GST), and a 50% deposit will be required upfront. An optional smoke alarm controller is also available for $36.30 (incl. GST).

From 1 January 2027, all Queensland dwellings—including homes, townhouses and units—must have smoke alarms that are:

• Photoelectric (AS 3786-2014)
• Hardwired and installed by a licensed electrician (e.g. 240v) to the mains power supply with a secondary power source (i.e. non-removable 10-year battery), or powered by a non-removable 10-year battery
• Installed in every bedroom, in hallways that connect bedrooms, and on every storey
• Interconnected so all alarms sound together when any one is triggered
• Fully operational when tested

All registered caravans and motorhomes must also be fitted with a photoelectric smoke alarm.
